...eventful couple of days

So, my lovely wife is due with our second child May 16. When we set the dates for the play (will tell you soon, I promise!) there was only 1 week between the end of the run and her due date, something she was not pleased about. So, she made me get an understudy. Something that was fairly easy all things considered. Well, it didn't exactly pan out so 'easy' in the end. Due to a variety of scheduling concerns on his behalf, he gracefully bowed out. And it really was understandable, I harbor no ill-will towards this guy and wish him all the best in his upcoming production.

So, after that, we were up the creek without a paddle. Here we are, 6-7 weeks before the play opens and no understudy. Well, after a lot of tiny panics and a heaping of prayer, we had TWO auditions the other day. TWO! and both were good. Both guys were also up for the challenge ahead as well. We finally decided and are excited to have an understudy back on board. My wife is very happy as well.

Loooong time....

Hey everyone. Well, it's been a long time coming, but here's a new post! Wheee!

I am proud to announce that the Screaming Monkeys have a new show in the works. The play is The Drawer Boy by Michael Healey. For those of you who've never heard of it before, when it debuted in 1999 it won 4 Dora Awards, including Outstanding New Play. And it is!

So, stay tuned as I update the post from time to time about how things are going. We have a date set, but I won't announce it till February (probably mid or late) as there aren't any tickets available yet and I want to launch the website with it.
